SUNDAY SERVICE
Our Sunday Service
You will find a family of believers who gather to celebrate the love of God in our lives. You will find people with diverse backgrounds. We are a hospitable and welcoming community, and we invite you to join us and come as you are - and experience a safe, accepting environment full of joy. From the youngest children to the oldest adults. We invite you to come and share in the love of God with us.
What can I expect in a Sunday Service?
Our worship gathering starts on Sundays at 10:15am and lasts about 75 to 90 minutes.
After some announcements, we tune our hearts to a call to worship followed by a time of praise and singing worship songs. The decibels of our worship music are not overbearing. The purpose of praise and worship is to express our love, gratitude, and thankfulness to God for all He has done for us.
How do we know God is there? Well, He promises to be. We worship in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit because, as Jesus says in Matthew 18:20: “Where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them”
After our congregational prayer, the children are invited for Sunday School. Then we have the sermon delivered by one of the members of our teaching team. The content and the flow of the message is held in place and guided by the Reformed doctrines of the five Solas. So we are committed to the authority of God’s word and not just trying to inform us but to allow Jesus to transform us to become more Christ-like in character, realizing that this can only take place through the work of the Holy Spirit. After the sermon, we have a final worship song and the benediction, followed by an enjoyable time of fellowship and refreshments.
If you’re looking for a church family, we encourage you to drop by on a Sunday to visit. We realize some may just want to observe the service and don’t want to feel pressured. We hope you will find a warm no-pressure welcome in our services.
What are the sermons like?
Grace Community Church is a little different from most churches. We do not have a full-time pastor on-staff who teaches every Sunday. Instead, we are an elder-led church. That means that members from our leadership team take turns speaking on Sundays. We value the different gifts and insights brought by each. We believe that the same Holy Spirit speaks through each. If that’s new to you, why not check out a few sermons from our archives first?
What about my children?
Part-way through the Sunday service, children ages 5 through 14 are invited downstairs for Sunday School. The Sunday School teachers encourage a fun, relaxed atmosphere with crafts and activities centered around a Bible Story.
